It has already been a few weeks since I returned from Myanmar.
This time we stayed 1 night in Osaka, 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur, 4 nights in Yangon, and 1 night in Bangkok, for a total stay of 8 nights and 9 days.
It was a dense week, including the orphanage and the village garment ceremony, but the most memorable part of the week was the early morning meditation in the village.
The temple had a meditation room called a cell.
I woke up around 4:00 a.m. and was looking for a place where I could meditate. A Myanmar girl I had befriended the day before asked the abbot where I could meditate.
The front of that cell is a stairwell, all facing the Buddha Elephant.
In addition, it faces east, so you can meditate in the morning sun.
It was still dark when I started my meditation at around 4:30 a.m., but I was meditating while feeling the morning sun rising soon.
I was able to meditate while feeling the chirping of various types of birds, the occasional soft breeze, and the sunlight that enveloped my entire body ・・・・ nature.
If I were asked what I would like to do again during this trip, I would answer without hesitation that I would like to meditate at a village temple.
I usually meditate in an environment surrounded by concrete, and I realized how this has dulled my senses.
The priest told me to come back and make curry again, so I would like to take advantage of his words and go back.
